All students taking five or more credits are automatically billed a non-waivable mandatory Student Health Fee. The Student Health Fee is not insurance. It works together with primary health insurance, entitling students to be seen at UHS and absorbing many costs not covered by primary health insurance.

Student Health Fee charges are per semester; benefits are on an annual basis. Fall coverage is in place from August 1 – January 15; spring coverage is effective January 16 – July 31. For more information, visit www.umass.edu/uhs/insurance/studenthealthfee.
