The Learning Resource Center (LRC),  located on the tenth floor of the W.E.B. Du Bois Library, provides a full range of academic support services to university students in many of the required and General Education courses. Open during the academic year, LRC offers UMass students a peer-supported environment to meet academic challenges.

Peer Tutoring is offered to students on a walk-in basis. Tutoring is available in many of the required, first year, and general education classes that that many students find difficult. 

Supplemental Instruction (SI) leaders attend each class session and pvoide,regularly scheduled, out-of-class, review sessions for that section of the course.  Study skills, note and test taking strategies and time management are incorporated into the context of the course review.  Students are welcome to attend SI sessions at any time throughout the semester. 

Tutors and SI leaders are model students trained to assist their peers in achieving academic success. 

Open five days a week until 10 p.m. throughout the academic year, the LRC schedule is easily accessible to students either electronically at www.umass.edu/lrc or by calling the above number.
