Disability Services

161 Whitmore, (413) 545-0892 V/TTY

Disability Services works to ensure that reasonable, effective accommodations and support services are in place for students with documented disabilities. In order to identify the accommodations and determine the appropriate and available resources for these accommodations, students are strongly urged to meet with a consumer manager prior to or at the beginning of the semester.

Advocacy, counseling, and support services are provided at all levels of academic and administrative programs, including but not limited to academic assistance such as note-taking, readers, proctoring, interpreters or transliterators, campus access, and adaptive equipment. Support services are offered for such matters as orientation, housing, transit, and enrollment management. Students are also encouraged to become fully engaged in a wide range of extracurricular undergraduate opportunities for a successful college career.

Consumer managers are skilled in the field of disability services at the post-secondary level, as well as being highly knowledgeable in disability issues, laws, and resources, and are available to meet with prospective and interested students, parents and/or guidance counselors.

Disability Services is open year-round, Monday-Friday. Appointments can be made by calling the office, tel. (413) 545-0892. Those who need sign language or oral interpreters can also call (413) 545-0892 V/TTY in advance to request interpreting services for campus tours.
