UMA Undergraduate Guide 2011-2012 Undergraduate Admissions, Expenses, and Financial Aid Freshman Admission Admission Standards and Decision-Making Process
Admission Standards and Decision-Making Process
About 34,000 freshman applications are expected for September 2012 enrollment for approximately 4,500 vacancies. The most important criterion in the admission decision is the high school academic record as measured by the quality of courses, grade point average, class rank, and grade trends. Standardized test scores (SAT I or ACT), an essay, and recommendations are also considered. For Early Action candidates, acceptance letters are mailed mid-December and for Regular Decision applicants, early March. Applicants receive a NetID and are able to monitor their application review process online. |
