The Major
Students who major in Philosophy must complete at least 10 courses in philosophy, including at least 7 300-level or above, and including the following: 1. One course in logic; for example: 2. One course in value theory; for example: 3. One course in History (A); for example: 4. One course in History (B); for example: 5. Two courses in metaphysics and epistemology; for example: 6. Integrative Experience course: Note: PHIL 398W, taken in conjunction with either PHIL 320 or PHIL 321, fulfills the Junior Year Writing requirement. For the Departmental Honors Program a student must, in addition to meeting these major requirements, maintain a high grade point average, complete an advanced course in logic and two departmental honors courses, and write an honors thesis.
