UMA Undergraduate Guide 2011-2012 Undergraduate Admissions, Expenses, and Financial Aid Financial Aid Loans
Loans
A loan is a form of financial aid that must be repaid, usually after graduation. For most loans, students need to file a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to be considered. The University of Massachusetts Amherst administers two different kinds of loans—Federal Perkins Loans and William D. Ford Federal Direct Loans. For information on alternative loans, see “Alternative Financing” elsewhere in this section. |
