Overview
Dining on Campus www.umassdining.com Meal Plans Award-winning Dining Services offers innovative, nutritious and contemporary menus with a wide selection of choices. From display cooking, traditional and international dishes, comfort foods, pizza, grill items, pasta, salad, sushi, and omelet bars, to noodle bowls, vegan and vegetarian selections; UMass Dining provides an array of options to fit the dietary needs and desires of students. Menus, designed by a task force of students, the director, managers, chefs, registered dietitian, pastry chef, and executive chef, are based on sound nutritional guidelines, surveys of student food preferences, mystery shoppers’ reports, and comments from students and staff. The four dining commons (DCs) are open seven days a week during the semester (with the exception of holiday and vacation periods) and serve students with all-you-care-to-eat dining options. They are located in the residential areas: Hampshire and Berkshire DCs in Southwest, Worcester DC in Northeast, and Franklin DC in Central. Dining is continuously available from 7am until midnight and all DCs have wireless internet available. If you do not have time to dine, the Grab n’ Go program allows you to pick your favorite sandwiches, salads, snacks and beverages to enjoy on the run. The University’s ID UCard serves as a student’s meal card and is required for entrance for meal plan participants. All undergraduates living in the non-apartment campus residence halls are required to purchase a meal plan. Freshman and sophomore students (as recognized by the University’s Registrar’s Office) must purchase one of the Residential meal plans (Value or Unlimited). All other undergraduate residential students have the additional choice of YCMP Gold or Platinum. All students who are not required to purchase a meal plan can purchase any meal plan Dining Services offers including YCMP Commuter which is designed and available to all off-campus students. |
