Academic Advising for Undergraduate Students
Under leadership from Undergraduate Advising & Learning Communities and the Undergraduate Dean's Council, technology continues to enhance academic advising for undergraduates. The Academic Requirements Report function in SPIRE (which tracks each student's progress toward degree) is an essential feature for both students and advisors. The Student Center (front page) of a student's SPIRE account prominently displays the student's academic advisor or advising center contact information. Additionally, advisor's notes about student contacts can be logged electronically, through SPIRE, thereby making them immediately available to advisors across campus. Record of a student's initial advising appointment during Summer New Student Orientation is filed electronically, as well. |
