Master of Science in Accounting Degree

The Master of Science in Accounting (MSA) Program is accredited at the highest level by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business (AACSB). The Isenberg MSA is a rigorous program designed primarily for individuals possessing a strong academic background in accounting (i.e., undergraduate degree in accounting or substantial equivalent, such as completing the Accounting Transitions Program) intending to pursue a career in public accounting. Further, it enables students to meet the 150-hour education requirement for Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification in Massachusetts.

Designed for maximum flexibility and convenience, our program can be completed online, on-campus, or in any combination.  You must complete 30 credits which include 6 required courses for 18 credits, and 12 credits of electives. Students may, with the approval of the graduate program director, transfer up to six credit hours for graduate courses completed at accredited institutions within the past three years, as long as the credits have not been used to fulfill any requirements for another degree. Our students can complete the program in as little as eight months, or take as long as several years if they have other obligations such as work and family*.

Students may enter the program in any of the three semesters (summer, fall, spring). Academic history, GMAT performance, aptitude for graduate study, and work experience are given consideration in admission decisions. Students from non-accounting backgrounds will be required to finish their accounting prerequisites before being admitted.

*In order to complete the program in 8 months, students must enter in fall or spring. Students entering our program in the summer, are not able to finish in two semesters. They would need to take a full year.
