Master of Science Degree Program

The Molecular and Cellular Biology Graduate Program offers the Fifth-Year Master’s Program exclusively for B.S. graduates of the university or any other of the Five Colleges. The requirements for the Master’s degree consist of 30 graduate credits, 21 of which must be in program-related courses. During the first year students take Molecular and Cellular Biology 642, and either Biochemistry 623 or Molecular and Cellular Biology 641. Up to 10 credits may be earned for the Master’s thesis, or 6 credits for the Master's project, either of which is defended orally before a faculty committee.
