Master of Public Health in Public Health Practice

Public Health Practice is a concentration under the Master of Public Health degree.  As a completely online program, PHP offers a fully accredited Master’s degree for health care and public health professionals around the world.  Students are required to complete 42 credits for the degree, including courses in epidemiology, biostatistics, community health education, environmental health, and health policy.  Students will also complete a 200-hour practicum and a final capstone course.  Contact the Program Administrator for further information at phonline@schoolph.umass.edu or visit www.umass.edu/sphhs.

This program allows busy professionals to complete their degree by taking all courses online. There is no residency requirement.

In online courses, traditional classroom exchanges are replaced with online chats, discussions, and assignments of critical learning activities necessary for a contemporary public health workforce. The program attracts students from the public health sector as well as those interested in career development in public health practice. Current students live all over the world and work as doctors, nurses, dentists, administraters/managers, laboratory staff, environmental and pharmaceutical personnel, educators, optometrists, and veterinarians, among other fields.
