Program Overview

The Graduate Certificate in Higher Education Leadership is designed for individuals interested in pursuing and advancing their careers as leaders in higher education.  Furthermore, the purpose of this certificate is to provide advanced education and training that is academically rigorous, contextualized for diverse academic settings in the U.S and abroad, and is designed to be relevant to real-world settings.  Instruction is delivered using a blended course model that combines face-to-face instuction with online discussions and other activities.

Requirements
Admission: Students are required to have an earned bachelor's degree and applications are accepted once per year (January 15 deadline).

Completion: The curriculum is composed of five courses:

  • EDUC 601A     Foundations of Higher Education
  • EDUC 674       Leading Higher Education
  • EDUC 621       Managing Higher Education
  • EDUC 846       The Academic Profession
  • EDUC 723       Organizing Higher Education
