Grant and Fellowship Opportunities

GrantSearch for Grad Students (formerly The Graduate Student Grant Service) provides University of Massachusetts Amherst graduate students with 24/7 information on and assistance with applying for external (non-UMass) grants and fellowships to support study and research. GrantSearch is geared toward students who are already doing focused research and have thesis or doctoral work in progress, but also works with students who want to get a head start on learning about the grant writing process so that they are prepared in advance to apply when the time is right. Grant writing is an important professional skill that all grad students need to learn in order to succeed in their chosen field.

GrantSearch sponsors grant writing workshops, provides information on major fellowship competitions, and helps students access searchable funding databases through the GrantSearch Blog. GrantSearch staff also see individual students by appointment in its office at 527 Goodell. See the blog for information about making an appointment, and for downloads and other information on grants and fellowships.
